“Instead of drilling down into one book of the Bible, people are flying high at 10,000 feet over all 66 books,” says Pastor Eric Waters, Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, Hilliard, Ohio.
“And I had hoped for 27 people in The Divine Drama class, but ended up with about 200. Why the huge turn-out? Because TDD is one of the only Bible studies that teaches the entire big story of Scripture, and that is what people like and want.
“Afterwards, they would say to me things like: Now I get it, or I see how it all hangs together, or So that is what the Old Testament is all about.
In addition, Pastor Waters tells how he has used over 1600 copies of the witnessing tool, The Divine Plan. “When I introduced the plans to the congregation, I took a few minutes of my sermon time to walk through it so that people could understand and more comfortably use it themselves when sharing with others. We also put them in the pew pads for visitors to take home.
“People like The Divine Plan. They ‘get it’ – the plan helps them see what the Bible’s story is all about. I myself put 2 or 3 copies in my shirt pocket, stick my business card in there, and hand them both out when I greet visitors on Sunday morning. We also have a few business owners who distribute them at their places of work and speak very highly of them because the plans are easy to explain, the graphics are great, and they help make sense of the Bible’s big story.
“Thank you, Crossways International. Your resources are much loved and well-received,” concludes Pastor Waters.
